Ever have one of those months?💥

Life is stressful. Become a peaceful quilter.

The last time I wrote I was just starting on quilting Unraveled. I was feeling a bit stretched with the quilting I was attempting but bravely forging ahead.

Until I started having major issues with my longarm. I created a whole course on knowing what’s up with your domestic machine and troubleshooting, but this still threw me for a loop.

In the end I needed to order a special tool and wait for it to come.

Which meant no quilting.

Plus it was a month of more travel, sickness and taxes. I really needed to quilt just to destress!

Custom Bowl Cozies

In the community we’ve had a whole bowl cozy discussion. I had actually never made one, but my husband requested ‘something quilted to put under his soup bowl’, so I designed one to fit our soup bowls.

And then I went down a rabbit hole – what’s the math needed to make cozies that fit all different sizes of bowls?

I created a pattern with a special calculator so that you can make bowl cozies designed to fit your specific bowls (or ice cream pints).

But there was just one niggling problem that I couldn’t completely solve until I woke up with the solution at 4 am one morning recently. By next month I should have the pattern plus videos good to go.

One thing I did finish

I did manage to finish moving all of my Fabric to Finished course to the community classroom.

This is a complete learn to quilt course that takes you from picking tools and fabric to making a tablerunner all the way through to the binding.

I am not sure it’s going on YouTube because there are so many PDFs needed. But you can get it for free in the community – still free.

Life is stressful. Piece.

The most frustrating part of the month was that in all the stress I did NOT take the time to piece.

This is my reminder to myself - all it takes is an hour a day.

I'm ready to get back to it.

Happy sewing ;)

Life is stressful. Piece. Need to say goodbye? Unsubscribe here How has late summer been for your quilting? I have mostly been doing quilting not piecing. My daughter made this beautiful king sized top that I quilted for her. It was the first really big – took up the whole width of my machine – quilt I’ve done on my machine. She is satisfying to quilt for as she had it bound and on her bed within 48 hours of getting it back from me! To push myself to get creating again I took a look through...

Life is stressful. Piece. Need to say goodbye? Unsubscribe here Unraveled is finally done — and it unraveled me a little in the process. Since my goal was to represent fabric unraveling, I guess that’s appropriate. I tried new things and they didn’t work or didn’t work as anticipated. 1) I used a new-to-me thread in my longarm. I spent so much time adjusting tension to make it work right! Once I started quilting with that thread I was locked into using it for the whole quilt so I just...
