Remember that bowl cozy project I mentioned last newsletter? After that 4 am solution revelation, I was finally able to pull my head out of the bowl cozy rabbit hole and wrap it up. πŸŽ‰

You can watch my video about the process here:

The pattern, which includes access to the calculator and videos that show you every step of the pattern to make cozies that fit YOUR bowls, is available in my shop - Custom Bowl Cozy Pattern

The video gives you the map to figure out the math to make your own custom bowl cozies, but the pattern gives you the GPS. You choose :)

Broken needles or skipped stitches?

Every once in a while I get a little niggle about some machine issue that might be causing you headaches. This month it was about one of my pet peeves - pulling your fabric through your machine. Here's the video that explains why that's just not a good idea πŸ˜‰

What I've been sewing - besides bowl cozies

I'm going to visit my granddaughter soon! I got her some soft blocks and decided to make a soft bag to carry the blocks around in - because I remember how much toddlers love to carry things around. It made me grateful for all those years of sewing that I was able to just put this together without stress.

I also finally have my longarm working again. It was quite the saga and I feel for anyone with machine struggles. The whole thing made me need to step away to regroup before I finish quilting it, but I am now raring to go once I get back from seeing my granddaughter. It WILL be done by next newsletter :). I want to start on my next quilt!

Happy sewing!

Life is stressful. Piece. Need to say goodbye? Unsubscribe here How has late summer been for your quilting? I have mostly been doing quilting not piecing. My daughter made this beautiful king sized top that I quilted for her. It was the first really big – took up the whole width of my machine – quilt I’ve done on my machine. She is satisfying to quilt for as she had it bound and on her bed within 48 hours of getting it back from me! To push myself to get creating again I took a look through...

Life is stressful. Piece. Need to say goodbye? Unsubscribe here Unraveled is finally done β€” and it unraveled me a little in the process. Since my goal was to represent fabric unraveling, I guess that’s appropriate. I tried new things and they didn’t work or didn’t work as anticipated. 1) I used a new-to-me thread in my longarm. I spent so much time adjusting tension to make it work right! Once I started quilting with that thread I was locked into using it for the whole quilt so I just...

Life is stressful. Become a peaceful quilter. The last time I wrote I was just starting on quilting Unraveled. I was feeling a bit stretched with the quilting I was attempting but bravely forging ahead. Until I started having major issues with my longarm. I created a whole course on knowing what’s up with your domestic machine and troubleshooting, but this still threw me for a loop. In the end I needed to order a special tool and wait for it to come. Which meant no quilting. Plus it was a...
